Selfish Monster Logo

Why?

Selfish and criminal behavior is running rampant. So many people feel they are above the law and have this false sense of entitlement. So many people lack good morals and empathy for others. So many people practice hate, destruction and violence.

Selfish.Monster shines light on the selfish behavior of humans. To add an element of social accountability for socially unacceptable actions.

Perhaps if there were harsher social consequences for poor behavior, there would be less of it.

Selfish.Monster focuses solely on the unacceptable behavior of humans and does not censor the opinions of society. We encourage people to be honest about their opinions of people’s behavior. We encourage our members to share their video footage of people behaving poorly.

Society has lost it’s way… strayed from the moral values that we once held so dear. Generation after generation has failed to teach their children how to be morally good. Media glorifies and promotes bad behavior. Our educational systems fail to instill good morals.  Today’s society is lacking:

  • Empathy
  • Compassion
  • Acceptance
  • Understanding
  • Open-Mindedness
  • Honesty
  • Loyalty
  • Censorship of Inappropriate Material that Encourages Morally Bad Behavior
  • Consequences

People have morals, regardless of their religion. The definition of “moral” is:

“a person’s standards of behavior or beliefs concerning what is and is not acceptable for them to do.”

We believe that everyone, no matter if they are religious or not, should have some moral standards to live by. A set of beliefs that drives you to be a good person.

We are here to remind the world of what is right and wrong, not to push any religion.  Not by our opinion alone, but also the opinion of society as a whole (through commenting and voting). We are here to make examples of what is NOT acceptable and what IS acceptable behavior. To actually discuss what is wrong with certain behavior, not just share it.

Our goal is to reestablish societal accountability. Meaning, if you behave poorly, society will chastise and make an example of you.
